Parlez-vous français?
I’m not speaking French yet! But hopefully I will soon… which is why I bought myself Rosetta Stone for Christmas. It’s a purchase I’ve been contemplating for a long time now…. eyeballing the kiosks every time I go to the mall…. perusing the website, but I never pulled the trigger.
It wasn’t until I saw their holiday special, $150 off the complete set, that I decided to take the plunge! Since I was getting my list of ‘things I wanted to do’ pulled together I thought it was perfect timing.
So how am I doing? Good so far. I’m on Level 1 Unit 2… having a little trouble with the vocabulary…but off to a good start. I must say I really like the total immersion thing they have going on. From the moment you start everything is in French. They use pictures to associate with the word, or phrase…I really like it. I’m a visual learner, so I find it helpful.
I’m planning on doing at least 30-mins to 1-hour a day… So I’ll keep you posted (get it ?? “posted”…a blog “post”…OK bad Web 2.0 humor) on how I’m doing and what I think of the program.
BTW for those of you thinking of getting Rosetta Stone they’re still offering a $150 off the complete set. Oh and if you do buy it…buy it from Amazon…no sales tax.
